Alex Popova

Welcome to Testing Solutions. I'm Alex Popova, an Oak Ridge High School graduate currently studying Nuclear Engineering with a minor in Mathematics at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. I have remained on the Dean’s list my entire time in college, as well as holding a chair position in Theta Tau, the professional engineering fraternity. I plan on obtaining a master’s degree in engineering, most likely at UT.

I’m originally from Bulgaria, which means I love to travel! When I have a break from work and school, you will find me either skiing or laying around at the beach. Having international background, I hope to use my nuclear degree and work in the international field one day. I have spent the past few summers working for the government in nuclear regulations in Washington D.C. Having enjoyed my work there, I hope to pursue a career within nuclear relations on the international scale.

As well as my government jobs in the summer, I have spent the last five years as a tutor. I worked for Test Prep Experts and the University of Tennessee in their Math Tutorial Center before joining Testing Solutions. I have helped students ages 14-40 in subjects ranging from Pre-Algebra to Differential Equations. Having worked with a wide variety of people and backgrounds has really helped me excel as a tutor and a teacher, which helps me connect with my students and relate concepts in a manner that is easy to understand. I find it very rewarding to help someone else further their education and reach their full potential.
